Unsa Khalil - Apprentice Business Administrator, Bradford Council

Unsa Khalil - Level 3 Apprenticeship, Business Administration

Why did you choose an apprenticeship?

I chose an apprenticeship because I was drawn to the balance it offers between theoretical learning and hands-on experience. I also found the opportunity to create a portfolio particularly valuable, as it’s something that can be applied in various settings.

What has been the most rewarding part of your apprenticeship so far?

The most rewarding part of my apprenticeship has been the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and receive exceptional mentoring from my manager, Fatima, and tutors, Joanne and Pat. Working on real projects and collaborating with a supportive team has allowed me to develop practical skills and build my confidence. This experience has been invaluable in preparing me for future challenges and making me more capable in my role.

The apprenticeship has provided me with a wealth of hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of how businesses operate in real-world settings. Through working on diverse projects and collaborating with a supportive team, I’ve been able to apply my skills in practical ways.

The mentoring from my manager, and tutors has been invaluable, guiding me to approach challenges with confidence and clarity.

This experience has not only enhanced my professional skills but has also taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, and adaptability in the workplace. It’s been a transformative journey that has prepared me to take on greater responsibilities and challenges moving forward.

How have you progressed or plan to progress following your apprenticeship?

Following my apprenticeship, I’m pursuing the BPC at the University of Law to achieve my goal of becoming a Barrister. This next step brings me closer to turning my aspirations into reality.

Would you recommend an apprenticeship to others?
