Rachel Eastwood - Kirklees Council

My name is Rachel Eastwood and I'm the Learning & Organisational Development Officer at Kirklees Council.  I have used Skills for Work as our apprenticeship training provider now since 2018.  I chose apprenticeship training as we want to bring in younger staff to the Council - although apprentices can be any age and we do employ older people, at this level the majority of applications come from younger candidates.  The main benefits of having apprentices in the Council are they are enthusiastic and eager to learn. It's good to have younger people in the organisation, they have different view points and skills.

I have been very satisfied with Skills for Work - the communication, the helpfulness of the tutors and assessors and the support that the apprentices receive from the tutors. I feel I have an excellent relationship with the staff at Skills for Work.  I do tell everyone who asks how excellent you are! The apprentices also value the level of support, feedback and guidance they get from the tutors.
