We also guarantee we'll help you to get an interview for a job as a teaching assistant on completion of the course.
What you'll learn:
Skills Bootcamp in Teaching Assistant Skills is designed to provide learners with the skills and knowledge required to enter teaching assistant-related roles in educational and non-educational environments. Delivery content will include:
- Safeguarding and Prevent,
- Special Educational Needs,
- Child Development,
- Equality Diversity, Inclusion,
- Communication and Professional Relationships with children, young people and adults;
- Schools as Organisations
Skills Bootcamps are free, flexible courses, for people looking for a new role or job opportunity. If you claim Universal Credit, you can apply and continue to claim benefits.
Eligibility:
You may be eligible to apply for a Skills Bootcamp if you:
- Are aged 19 years or over
- have the right to work in the UK, - live in England and meet residency requirements (we can check this)
- are unemployed and actively seeking work
- and are willing to commit to 80 GLH (Guided Learning Hours)
- Have competent English language to minimum Level One

The Teaching Assistant Skills Boot Camps are delivered from our city centre location 5 minutes from the bus and rail stations.

Course Delivery Dates
Wednesdays, 9.30am - 3.30pm from October 1st to December 10th 2025.
A second course will run from January 7th to March 18th 2026
