The Customer Service & Business Support Skills for the Workplace course offers a practical and supportive route into office-based and customer facing roles, helping you develop the skills and knowledge used in modern workplaces.

This course is ideal for people who want to start, return to, or progress within an office/customer facing environment, including business, public sector and third sector settings.

What the course offers

You will gain hands-on experience in both administrative and customer-facing roles, helping you build confidence in face-to-face interactions while developing effective communication and problem-solving skills. This will be supported by the use of digital tools and systems commonly found in modern workplace environments. The practical skills you develop will be highly transferable across a range of industries, enhancing your adaptability and overall confidence in a professional setting.

Note: This non‑accredited course has been mapped against the learning outcomes of City & Guilds Business Administration and Customer service qualifications (Levels 2 and 3).

Who the course is for

This course is fully funded and suitable for learners who are:

  • Aged 19 or over
  • Looking for office-based work or a career change into administration
  • Employed, unemployed, or returning to work
  • Able to commit to 80 guided learning hours (1 day per week for 10 weeks)
  • Competent in English Language and ICT to minimum Level 1 standard
